LCG, January 15, 2026--Origis Energy today announced that Meta and the company signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for the 240-MW (303-MWdc) Greyhound A Solar project in West Odessa, Texas. The Greyhound A Solar project is scheduled to achieve commercial operations by mid-2026.

LCG, January 13, 2026--Oglethorpe Power today announced it has selected Kiewit Corporation through its subsidiary, The Industrial Company (TIC), as the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) partner for its new combined-cycle (CC), natural gas-fired power plant in Monroe County, Georgia. The new, 1,425-MW facility represents a capital investment of more than $3 billion. Commercial operation of the new generation capacity is planned to commence in 2029.

Wisconsin Okays More Dry Storage for Point Beach Nuke
LCG, March 14, 2001--The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin voted 3-0 yesterday to approve a request by Wisconsin Electric Co. to build and load additional dry storage containers for used fuel at the company's Point Beach nuclear power plant.The additional storage will provide enough capacity to allow the plant's two 525 megawatt reactors to continue operating through the expiration of their licenses in 2010 and 2013.Wisconsin Energy Corp., parent holding company for the utility, pointed out that the U.S. Department of Energy has failed to comply with federal law that requires it to remove the used fuel from Point Beach and other reactor sites, and to dispose of it in a geologic repository. The government's inaction forced the company to resort to dry storage.In its approval, the commission noted that all conclusions support the company's contention that shutting down the plant would be substantially more expensive than continued operation.
