(TRISO stands for TRi-structural ISOtropic). This is the first time that TRISO-X fuel pebbles will undergo irradiation testing in a U.S. lab, which is a critical step in meeting requirements set forth by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for the commercial deployment of advanced reactors that will use the fuel.

LCG, October 28, 2025--NextEra Energy and Google yesterday announced two agreements that will help meet growing electricity demand from artificial intelligence (AI) with clean, reliable, 24/7 nuclear power and strengthen the nation's nuclear leadership. Absentee Ballots Scotch Frisco Municipal Utility
LCG, Nov. 12, 2001--With 8,418 absentee ballots counted and very few uncounted votes left, backers of two measures in last Tuesday's election that would have created a municipal utility in San Francisco were conceding defeat on Saturday.Political activists in San Francisco never take "no" for an answer and said they may demand a recount or fight the outcome in court. "We are looking at the various options," said Peter Bagatelos, a lawyer for the public power measures. One of the measures, which had led 51 percent to 49 percent after votes from all San Francisco precincts had been added up, trailed by 1,114 votes after the absentee ballots had been counted. The other initiative, which would have included the neighboring small town of Brisbane, had trailed earlier by a 51 percent to 49 percent vote and now is a hopeless 5,092 votes behind.Ross Mirkarimi, who managed a joint campaign for the two measures, said questions abound about how absentee ballots were handled by elections workers. "We don't know if it's incompetence or malfeasance," he said. "We believe this election is chock-full of irregularities."Tammy Haygood, San Francisco's elections director, said "The election was done in a superb manner."
