New York PSC Approves Ravenswood Energy Storage Project

LCG, October 18, 2019--The New York State Public Service Commission (PSC) yesterday approved construction of the largest battery storage facility in New York State history. The 316-MW Ravenswood Energy Storage Project will be built in Long Island City, Queens, New York and scheduled to be partially operational by March 2021.

Xcel Energy, EVRAZ North America and Lightsource BP Announce 250-MW Solar Project in Colorado

LCG, October 1, 2019--Xcel Energy, EVRAZ North America and Lightsource BP announced Friday that they have reached a long-term agreement to develop a 240-MW solar facility in Colorado. Lightsource BP will finance, build, own and operate the Bighorn Solar project and sell all the electricity it generates to Xcel Energy under a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA). The project will be built on EVRAZ Rocky Mountain Steel property in Pueblo, making it the largest on-site solar facility dedicated to a single customer in the country.

J. Frank Bates has been promoted to chief operations officer by El Paso Electric Co. He replaces Eduardo Rodriguez, who resigned last week to pursue other career interests. Bates was previously vice president for transmission and distribution, and now adds generation to his responsibilities.

Roy A. Edwards III, president, chief executive and a director of First National Bank of Hutchinson, Kan., has joined the Western Resources Inc. board of directors. He is also former president of Douglas County Bank in Lawrence, Kan.

Kristine Euclide has joined Madison Gas & Electric Co. as vice president and general counsel. She most recently was a senior partner with the Madison, Wisc., office of Stafford Rosenbaum law firm.

George H. Gilmore will join Exelon Corp. Monday as a senior vice president. He will also be president of the corporation's Exelon Enterprises unit. Gilmore most recently was a group president with National Service Industries, Inc., a diversified manufacturing and service company.

Heidi E. Hutter, chief executive officer and a principal of The Black Diamond Group LLC, has been elexted to the UtiliCorp United Inc. board of directors effective February 6, 2002, increasing board membership to 10 directors.

Grant F. Larkin has been assigned by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission as the agency's resident inspector at Waterford 3, a 1,150 megawatt nuclear power plant owned by Entergy Corp. near Taft, La.

Enrique Mejorada has been promoted to vice president for risk controls by Calpine Corp. He joined Calpine from Central & South West Corp. as director of risk controls in June 2000, and has since built an outstanding group of strategic, quantitative analysis and information technology professionals, the company said.

William Siderewicz has been promoted to senior vice president for business development by Calpine Corp. He currently manages the business development activities for Calpine's rapidly growing Eastern region.

Peter Snyder has been assigned by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission as the agency's resident inspector at the 2,350 megawatt Byron Nuclear Power Plant owned by Exelon Corp. subsidiary Commonwealth Edison Co. in Illinois.

Keith Stamm, who has been chief executive officer of UtiliCorp United Inc.'s Aquila, Inc. subsidiary has been named president and chief operating officer of UtiliCorp's new Global Networks Group, which will manage all of the company's electric, natural gas and telecommunicationsnetwork operations in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
