PG&E Corp. Pipeline Approved

LCG, June 28, 2002--PG&E Corporation, parent to California's PG&E utility, has received initial approval to increase gas supply to the Northwest.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission authorized the expansion, which was filed by PG&E subsidiary Northwest Corp. and would be constructed and in service by November 1, 2003.

The extra capacity, supported by 53.6 miles of 42-inch diameter pipe, will bring 143 million cubic feet per day normally and 163 million cubic feet per day in the winter.

The approval is preliminary and was granted on non-environmental grounds.
