LCG, May 7, 2026--PJM issued today its Summer Outlook 2026, which forecasts sufficient generation for typical peak demand this summer. PJM states that it is prepared to call on contracted demand response resources to reduce electricity use during times of high system stress.

LCG, May 6, 2026--Oklo Inc. ("Oklo"), an advanced nuclear technology company, announced today that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has approved the Principal Design Criteria (PDC) topical report for the Aurora-INL (Idaho National Laboratory) nuclear small modular reactor (SMR), which is currently under construction in Idaho. The PDC topical report establishes a regulatory framework that defines the fundamental safety, reliability, and performance requirements to guide future reactor licensing and design activities, and the approved report should simplify future applications and reduce the need to re-review established material.

Contract Signed for Hydro-Quebec Hydropower Equipment
LCG, Apr. 2, 2003--A subsidiary of Hydro-Quebec, the Societe d'energie de la Baie James, signed a contract in March with ALSTOM for the engineering, delivery and installation of three hydropower turbine-generator sets at the Eastmain-1 hydropower plant.Each of the turbine-generator sets will have a capacity of 160 megawatts, and will be built within the Baie-James (James Bay) Hydroelectric Development program. The Eastmain-1 project resulted from negotiations between Quebec's government and the Grand Council of the Crees, which included guarantees of job creation and business development. Another proposed power project, called Nottaway-Braodback-Rupert, was to be cancelled in the event that partial diversion of the Rupert River went forward. At least nine agreements and accords covering hydropower development were signed, marking greater cooperation between the Crees and the provincial government.The turbines will be manufactured beginning in 2004, with all three turbine-generator sets to be commissioned by December 2006.
