LCG, January 21, 2026--Sage Geosystems, the company pioneering Pressure Geothermal, today announced that it closed over $97 million in Series B funding to advance its geothermal power generation and energy storage solutions, including its first commercial next-generation geothermal power generation facility. Ormat Technologies, a vertically integrated company engaged in geothermal and recovered energy generation ("REG"), and Carbon Direct Capital, a growth equity investment firm, co-led Sage’s Series B round, representing the full backing of Sage and Pressure Geothermal technology from leaders in geothermal energy and growth capital.

LCG, January 15, 2026--Origis Energy today announced that Meta and the company signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for the 240-MW (303-MWdc) Greyhound A Solar project in West Odessa, Texas. The Greyhound A Solar project is scheduled to achieve commercial operations by mid-2026.

Nevada Governor Vetoes Yucca Mountain Nuke Disposal
LCG, April 8, 2002--Nevada Governor Kenny Guinn left for the nation's capital today with the intent to file papers vetoing the Federal decision to use Nevada's Yucca Mountain as a nuclear waste depository.The governor is reported to have said, "Yucca Mountain is not inevitable, and Yucca Mountain is no bargaining chip, and so long as I am governor, it will never become one."The governor will file to veto President Bush's nuclear waste recommendation in both the Senate and the House; in 1982 Nevada was given the right to veto the presidential recommendation.Accusing the project of representing poor science and policy, the Nevada governor charged that transportation risks were not considered when Yucca Mountain was chosen as the only option to be considered for nuclear waste disposal.The Federal Department of Energy wants to store 77,000 tons of highly radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel at the proposed Yucca Mountain facility. Just over two million people reside in Nevada, and therefore the Silver state has only four legislative representatives.Governor Guinn has asked all Nevada citizens to contribute a dollar or more to the Nevada Protection Fund.
