LCG, February 4, 2026--Natura Resources LLC (Natura), a developer of advanced molten-salt nuclear reactors, announced yesterday that it has signed an agreement with NGL Water Solutions Permian LLC, a subsidiary of NGL Energy Partners LP (NGL), to pursue opportunities to combine Natura's advanced nuclear reactor technology with thermal desalination for power production and oil and gas produced water treatment. NGL transports, treats, recycles and disposes of more than 3 million barrels per day of produced and flowback water generated from crude oil and natural gas production in the Permian Basin.

LCG, February 2, 2026--Ontario Power Generation (OPG) announced today that construction on the four-unit Darlington Refurbishment project is now complete. Station staff are completing final testing, and the last unit is expected to return to service in the coming weeks. OPG stated that the overall project is currently four months ahead of schedule and $150 million under budget.

San Jose's Coyote Valley Has Metcalf Ground-breaking
LCG, June 21, 2002--Today, a ceremony to mark the start of construction on developer Calpine Corp.'s 600-megawatt Metcalf Energy Center takes place in North Coyote Valley, a rural area to the south of urban Silicon Valley.The plant was approved 10-1 by the San Jose City Council, and received the support of Mayor Ron Gonzales, who will attend the ceremony with other local and state officials. The City Council had earlier voted unanimously in opposition to the plant, for reasons of inconsistencies with zoning rules. Gonzales had announced his opposition to having a plant near residential areas for a full year. The California Energy Commission's support of the plant, which based its assessment on the San Jose area's being "among the most generation deficient areas in the state," brought a reversal from the Council and Gonzales.The gas-fired Metcalf Energy Center will be implemented as a combined-cycle configuration with advanced emission controls. It received an endorsement from the Loma Prieta Chapter of the Sierra Club, and is expected to begin producing baseload power in the summer of 2004.
