NRC Approves Oklo's Principal Design Criteria Topical Report for Aurora Powerhouse

LCG, May 6, 2026--Oklo Inc. ("Oklo"), an advanced nuclear technology company, announced today that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has approved the Principal Design Criteria (PDC) topical report for the Aurora-INL (Idaho National Laboratory) nuclear small modular reactor (SMR), which is currently under construction in Idaho. The PDC topical report establishes a regulatory framework that defines the fundamental safety, reliability, and performance requirements to guide future reactor licensing and design activities, and the approved report should simplify future applications and reduce the need to re-review established material.

Vestas Receives First Order for New V136-3.45 MW Wind Turbine

LCG, December 31, 2015--Vestas announced yesterday that it has received an unconditional order for 34 V136-3.45 MW turbines for the Metsälä wind power project to be built in Finland. The wind turbines will have a combined electric generating capacity of 117 MW and are scheduled to be installed and connected to the grid in the latter half of 2017.

The V136-3.45 MW turbine was recently launched in September. The turbine is designed to increase the energy output and reduce the levelized cost of energy in low wind conditions. The aerofoil design, applied to the 66.7 meter long blades, enables a 12 percent increase (relative to the Vestas' V126-3.3 MW turbine) in annual energy production. Advanced aerodynamics, particularly at the blade tips, also decrease the maximum noise emission level relative to current designs.

The Finnish energy company EPV Tuulivoima Oy ordered the turbines, along with installation services and a ten-year service agreement. The wind farm will be Finland's largest onshore project. Prior to this order, EPV Tuulivoima Oy purchased a total of 33 V126-3.3 MW turbines.

EPV Tuulivoima Oy's Managing Director stated, "We are proud to install our biggest onshore wind park and place the first order for Vestas' new V136-3.45 MW turbine. We have chosen the V136-3.45 MW as it will deliver increased energy output and thus provides us an optimal choice within the Metsälä project site constraints."

Vestas Northern Europe's President stated, "This wind park will be the first large-scale V136-3.45 MW project, and it underlines our customers' confidence in the Vestas' 3-MW platform - which has already reached 7 GW of installed capacity and more than 10 GW orders worldwide."
