LCG, November 26, 2025--RWE announced today the commissioning of the Stoneridge Solar project, located in Milam County, Texas. The project capacity is 200 MW of solar power, plus a battery energy storage system (BESS) that provides 100 MW (200 MWh) of battery storage capacity. The BESS improves the supply of short-term, reliable, affordable electricity in ERCOT.

LCG, November 19, 2025--Oklo Inc. and Siemens Energy announced today that the parties have signed a binding contract for the design and delivery of the power conversion system for Oklo’s Aurora-INL (Idaho National Laboratory) nuclear small modular reactor (SMR). The agreement authorizes Siemens Energy to begin engineering and design work to expedite procurement of long-lead components and to initiate the manufacturing process for the power conversion system. Oklo’s expertise in advanced fission technology will be combined with Siemens Energy’s extensive industry experience with steam turbine and generator systems, with the ultimate goal of generating carbon-free, reliable electricity.

Dominion Energy Nears Installation of Turbines for the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind Project
LCG, April 23, 2020--Dominion Energy and Ørsted announced Tuesday that the turbine components and monopiles for the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) pilot project have been loaded onto cargo ships in Denmark and Germany and are now bound for North America.
The two, 6-MW wind turbines are to be installed approximately 27 miles offshore later this spring and are scheduled to commence operations by the end of this year. Onshore construction for the pilot project began last June to facilitate the interconnection of the offshore turbines at a Dominion Energy substation near Camp Pendleton.
The Dominion Energy vice president of generation construction stated, "This is a monumental step toward the installation of the first offshore wind turbines in federal waters, which will deliver clean, renewable energy to our customers. The construction of these two turbines will help us reach our goal for net zero emissions and position Virginia as a leader in offshore wind."
The foundations, consisting of the turbines' monopiles, transition pieces and anode cages fabricated by EEW SPC, were loaded in Germany. The components for the two, 6-MW Siemens Gamesa turbines were loaded in Denmark.
"Even though this project consists of two monopiles and transition pieces, it has profound importance for the development of the U.S. offshore wind market, as this is the first project that successfully has passed all phases of BOEM approval," said the CEO of the EEW Group. "This milestone will pave the way for the large-scale commercial projects to follow. Both Dominion Energy and Ørsted are key developers in the U.S and the collaboration on this project demonstrates the determination toward the rapid development of U.S. offshore wind."
The CVOW pilot project was first announced over two years ago and received approval in November 2018 from the State Corporation Commission (SCC). The construction process is on a strict timetable, in order to minimize environmental impacts to the sea bottom and aquatic life.
According to Dominion Energy, the company is also now conducting ocean surveys to map the seabed of the 112,800-acre lease area where the company's 2,600-MW CVOW project that will be built beginning in 2024. These surveys will help the company determine potential impacts to ocean and sea life and will support the development of the project's Construction and Operations Plan to be submitted to the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) later this year.
Dominion Energy's offshore wind projects are part of the company's comprehensive clean energy strategy to achieve net zero carbon dioxide and methane emissions from its power generation and gas infrastructure operations by 2050. Furthermore, the offshore wind projects are generally aligned with the Virginia Clean Economy Act that was signed by the Governor earlier this month. The law establishes renewable portfolio standards (RPS) for Virginia that includes requiring Dominion Energy Virginia to be 100 percent carbon-free by 2045 and Appalachian Power to be 100 percent carbon-free by 2050.
The renewable requirements in the Virginia Clean Economy Act provide that, prior to the end of 2034, up to 5,200 MW of offshore wind generation is "in the public interest." The Act also establishes that 16,100 MW of solar and onshore wind is "in the public interest" and requires Virginia's largest energy companies to install or acquire more than 3,100 MW of energy storage capacity.
