LCG, October 14, 2026--American Electric Power (AEP) today announced plans for a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Google, under which AEP will invest approximately $4 billion to advance a new 702-MW fuel cell generation project located near Cheyenne, Wyoming. Google will acquire power from Cheyenne Fuel Cell, LLC, which is approximately 92 percent owned and controlled by AEP and 8 percent owned by funds advised by Basalt Infrastructure Partners, LLP. AEP and its partners plan to start construction this year and to be fully operational by the end of 2028.

LCG, October 6, 2026--Google and Constellation Energy today announced a long-term strategic clean energy collaboration to bring 890 MW of new, reliable, carbon-free nuclear capacity onto the PJM Interconnection grid to meet growing demand and increase grid reliability. The first uprate is expected to be delivered by 2028.

LCG Publishes 2023 Annual Outlook for Texas Electricity Market (ERCOT)
LCG, June 6, 2022 – LCG Consulting (LCG) has released its annual outlook of the ERCOT wholesale electricity market for 2023, based on the most likely weather, market, transmission, and generator conditions. Compared to the 2022 outlook, Texas is expected to host more uncertainty as the prediction horizon is extended further by one year. This Outlook presents the future operation of the ERCOT nodal market, including Locational Marginal Prices (LMPs), load zone prices, hub prices, and expected congestion in 2023.
