LCG, September 17, 2026--INNIO N.V. today announced that the company secured an order from a U.S. energy company for 450 MW of power infrastructure. INNIO’s Jenbacher J624 containerized gas engine can produce approximately 4.5 MW, and the engines will be supplied to support off-grid, alternative power solutions for large-scale data center projects in North America. The engines are expected to be delivered by 2028.

U.S. Energy Company Orders 450 MW of INNIO's Jenbacher J624 Containerized Engines to Deliver Behind-the-Meter Power for Data centers
LCG, September 17, 2026--INNIO N.V. today announced that the company secured an order from a U.S. energy company for 450 MW of power infrastructure. INNIO’s Jenbacher J624 containerized gas engine can produce approximately 4.5 MW, and the engines will be supplied to support off-grid, alternative power solutions for large-scale data center projects in North America. The engines are expected to be delivered by 2028.
INNIO's announcement stated that the order is the first order by the customer of this scale, and, in line with customary confidentiality practices in the data center industry, the energy company’s name is not being disclosed at this time. The firm order was booked in INNIO’s current third quarter of 2026.
The President & CEO of INNIO stated, "AI is driving unprecedented demand for power, while grid constraints have become a critical bottleneck for data center development. This order demonstrates that INNIO’s technology is part of the solution, enabling customers to deploy reliable, efficient, and sustainable power quickly and independently of grid limitations."
INNIO’s Jenbacher J624 is a two-stage turbocharged V24-cylinder engine designed for power generation and introduced in 2007. The 1,500-rpm engine speed results in a high power density with low installation costs, and its pre-combustion chamber achieves high efficiency with low emissions. Attributes include high power density, ease of transport, containerization for fast deployment, and more stable load-following.
