Enel said the combination power and desalination plant was the largest ever in the United Arab Emirates. The contracts were awarded by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority.

Luigi Giuffrida, Enelpowers managing director, said "The contract marks a further success for the company's overseas expansion strategy, and confirms Enelpower's competitiveness, even in countries, like Dubai, that require the use of advanced technology."
