LCG, July 2, 2025--Alliant Energy today announced plans to add up to 1,000 MW of wind energy generating capacity in Iowa to meet demand and ensure reliable, affordable energy for its customers. The plans are included in a filing with the Iowa Utilities Commission (IUC), and the company anticipates a decision from the IUC in the first quarter of 2026.

Sierra Pacific Customers to Get October Rebates
LCG, Aug. 4, 2000--Customers of Sierra Pacific Power Co. will get rebates on their October bills as the company shares with ratepayers the profits it earned in excess of an agreed-upon threshold.The Public Utilities Commission of Nevada approved a $9.3 million rebate that translates for the typical residential customer an $11.26 credit on his electric bill and $3.72 for gas. Electric customers will also receive another 51 cents as part of a refund announced last month.Doug Pond, the utilitys vice president for government and regulatory affairs, said "We're pleased with the Puces action today and would like to thank the Bureau of Consumer Protection, PUN staff and all of the parties that participated in the agreement that led to (the rebates)."In 1997, the PUN and the Bureau of Consumer Affairs worked out with Sierra Pacific an agreement to split 50-50 with its customers any profits earned over a specified plateau in 1997, 1998 and 1999. The rebate announced yesterday was the third and final one under that agreement.The total amount returned to customers under the agreement is close to $30 million.
