LCG, December 12, 2025--Today, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, Inc. (ERCOT) announced strategic organizational changes designed to accelerate innovation, strengthen grid reliability, and support the unprecedented growth in the demand for electricity across Texas. To meet these objectives, ERCOT created two new organizations: Interconnection and Grid Analysis, and Enterprise Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The two organizations will formally launch in January 2026.

LCG, December 8, 2025--Basin Electric Power Cooperative (Basin Electric) and NextEra Energy Resources, LLC (NextEra) today announced that they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore the joint development of the River Run Energy Center, a new combined-cycle natural gas-fueled generation facility in Basin Electric's North Dakota service territory. The proposed facility will have a planned capacity of approximately 1,450 MW.

CMS Completes 348 Megawatt Jorf Lasfar Unit
LCG, Aug. 2, 2000--CMS Energy Corp. said yesterday its CMS Generation Co. independent power unit had begun commercial operation at Unit 3 of the largest independent power plant in Africa, the $1.5 billion coal-fueled Jorf Lasfar facility in Morocco.The 348 megawatt Unit 3 joins Units 1 and 2, which total 660 megawatts, in supplying power to Office Nationale de lElectricit, the Moroccan national utility, under a 30-year contract. Completion of a fourth generating unit of 348 megawatts, which will bring total capacity of Jorf Lasfar to 1356 megawatts, is scheduled in the fourth quarter of this year.The plant is located on the Atlantic coast of West Africa, about 85 miles southwest of Casablanca, and when complete will supply more than half of Moroccos electric supply."Since September 1997, when CMS Generation assumed operating responsibility for Jorf Lasfar,the plant has achieved consistently high levels of plant availability and output," said Rodney E.Boulanger, CMS Generation's president and chief executive. "Completion of Unit 3 was accomplished within the schedule originally announced, and construction of Unit 4 continues on schedule."
