LCG, September 3, 2025--The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and ENTRA1 Energy (ENTRA1) yesterday announced a new agreement to advance nuclear power development within TVA’s service region. Under the agreement, ENTRA1 Energy will collaborate with TVA to deploy six ENTRA1 Energy Plants™, each powered by multiple NuScale Power Modules™, to provide up to 6 GW of firm, 24/7 baseload power.

LCG, August 27, 2025--Wärtsilä Energy announced yesterday an agreement with East Kentucky Power Cooperative (EKPC) to supply the engineering and equipment for a 217-MW power plant to be constructed in Liberty, Kentucky. The Wärtsilä equipment is scheduled for delivery in mid-2027, and the plant is expected to be commissioned in early 2028.

Duke Unit to Buy Waste Management Power Plants
LCG, Nov. 2, 2000--Duke Energy Corp. said yesterday its Duke Solutions business unit has agreed to acquire eight independent power plants with a combined capacity of 244 megawatts from a subsidiary of Waste Management Inc.Duke Solutions said it will invest approximately $100 million in the facilities, including purchase price and planned improvements, adding that expected revenues over the next 15 years could exceed $1 billion.The assets to be acquired include cogeneration and renewable energy facilities in California,Pennsylvania, Maine and Florida that provide steam and chilled water under long-term contracts with industrial and institutional customers and long-term electricity under long-term electric sales contracts with several utilities.Duke Solutions will own and operate the plants, calling on other Duke companies for services such as maintenance, commodity supply and risk management.
