LCG, September 3, 2025--The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and ENTRA1 Energy (ENTRA1) yesterday announced a new agreement to advance nuclear power development within TVA’s service region. Under the agreement, ENTRA1 Energy will collaborate with TVA to deploy six ENTRA1 Energy Plants™, each powered by multiple NuScale Power Modules™, to provide up to 6 GW of firm, 24/7 baseload power.

LCG, August 27, 2025--Wärtsilä Energy announced yesterday an agreement with East Kentucky Power Cooperative (EKPC) to supply the engineering and equipment for a 217-MW power plant to be constructed in Liberty, Kentucky. The Wärtsilä equipment is scheduled for delivery in mid-2027, and the plant is expected to be commissioned in early 2028.

Allegheny Energy to Acquire Three Enron Plants
LCG, Nov. 15, 2000--Allegheny Energy Inc. and Enron Corp. announced jointly yesterday that an Allegheny subsidiary would purchase three natural gas-fired merchant power plants in the Midwest from Enron North America for an undisclosed sum.The 1,710 megawatts of capacity will give Allegheny Energy Supply Co. more than 12 megawatts of total capacity. The company said the purchase "marks a significant milestone on the Company's strategic course toward becoming a national energy supplier. "The plants acquired by Allegheny, which have all been in commercial operation since June of this year, are a 546 megawatt facility in Gleason, Texas, a 508 megawatt plant in Wheatland, Ind., and a 656 megawatt plant in Manhattan, Ill.The completion of the transaction is conditioned upon approvals from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Justice Department, Allegheny said.
