LCG, February 12, 2026--Hydrostor today announced that the Willow Rock Energy Storage Center has signed a 50 MW offtake agreement with California Community Power (CC Power) on behalf of six of its community choice aggregator members: CleanPowerSF, Peninsula Clean Energy, Redwood Coast Energy Authority, San Jose Clean Energy, Silicon Valley Clean Energy Authority and Valley Clean Energy Authority.

LCG, February 4, 2026--Natura Resources LLC (Natura), a developer of advanced molten-salt nuclear reactors, announced yesterday that it has signed an agreement with NGL Water Solutions Permian LLC, a subsidiary of NGL Energy Partners LP (NGL), to pursue opportunities to combine Natura's advanced nuclear reactor technology with thermal desalination for power production and oil and gas produced water treatment. NGL transports, treats, recycles and disposes of more than 3 million barrels per day of produced and flowback water generated from crude oil and natural gas production in the Permian Basin.

Energy Commission 'Attacking' State Electricity Problems
LCG, Dec. 22, 2000--Saying it was "attacking the state's electricity problems in two major ways," the California Energy Commission yesterday evening issued three press releases explaining "in detail" taken at the agency's meeting yesterday.The Commission said it had approved its ninth new power plant since deregulation of the California electric industry in 1996. As reported here yesterday, the agency did indeed approve construction of Enron Corp.'s 750 megawatt Pastoria plant west of Bakersfield -- after thinking about it for two years.In another news release, the Commission said it "hopes" to cut energy use in state facilities by 200 megawatts before next summer. To do so will require the expenditure of $6,750,000.In another initiative that will require more millions of dollars, the Commission approved contracts with four "regional entities" to put into effect its "Cool Communities Program." This is really something. Each of the "entities" will get $2 million to do things like paint roofs with things that reflect the sun's heat.According to the Commission, "Cool roofs reduce air pollution, lower energy bills and help mitigate further damage to air quality."Why is the plural of "hoof" given as "hooves" and that of "roof" as "roofs?"
