LCG, November 2, 2026--Vistra Corp. announced on October 30 that, following receipt of all required regulatory approvals, it has completed the acquisition of Cogentrix Energy from funds managed by Quantum Capital Group. The acquisition consists of 10 natural gas-fired power generation facilities totaling nearly 5,500 MW of capacity. The addition of Cogentrix's facilities to Vistra's existing generation portfolio raises Vistra's U.S. generation portfolio to nearly 50,000 MW.

LCG, October 23, 2026--INNIO N.V. yesterday announced a 620 MW follow-on order from a developer and operator of mega-scale data center campuses in the United States. Together with the customer's 1.1 GW order announced previously in July, the new order brings cumulative orders from the customer to approximately 1.72 GW this year.

Montana Power Sale of Utility Business Approved
LCG, Feb. 26, 2001The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has approved the sale by Montana Power Co. of its electric utility operations to North Western Corp. of Sioux Falls, S.D., the two companies said in a joint statement Friday.The deal will cost North Western about $1.1 billion, including assumption of around $488 million in Montana Power debt. Approval of the deal is still required from the Montana Public Service Commission and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.In March last year, Montana Power said it would sell all of its power plants, wires and other electric utility assets and become a telecommunications company. By summer, the company will have also sold other energy related businesses in coal, oil and natural gas, as well as its independent power production operations."This will take us completely out of the energy businesses and will leave us as a stand-alonetelecommunications company. Our name will be Touch America," spokesman Cort Freeman said.It would seem that the name could have been sold along with the other assets.
