LCG, December 12, 2025--Today, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, Inc. (ERCOT) announced strategic organizational changes designed to accelerate innovation, strengthen grid reliability, and support the unprecedented growth in the demand for electricity across Texas. To meet these objectives, ERCOT created two new organizations: Interconnection and Grid Analysis, and Enterprise Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The two organizations will formally launch in January 2026.

LCG, December 8, 2025--Basin Electric Power Cooperative (Basin Electric) and NextEra Energy Resources, LLC (NextEra) today announced that they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore the joint development of the River Run Energy Center, a new combined-cycle natural gas-fueled generation facility in Basin Electric's North Dakota service territory. The proposed facility will have a planned capacity of approximately 1,450 MW.

Lebanese Cabinet Denies Rumors of Electricity Crisis
LCG, Jan. 18, 2002--The Lebanese Daily Star reported that Cabinet officials heard from Energy and Water Minister Mohammed Abdel-Hamid Beydoun at a routine session that no energy crisis was imminent.Beydoun's remarks reportedly indicated that fuel oil stocks and expected additions would meet the requirements for the coming month. Further, he is to have said, rumored breakdowns at the Deir Ammar and Zahrani power plants were not true, due to the facilities' being diesel-powered. Leading the meeting were President Emile Lahoud and Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.Leaks to the press had indicated that blackouts might occur, a scenario which Information Minister Ghazi Aridi called "wrong." Aridi informed the press that talks between the Cabinet and Electricite du Liban Director-General Kamal Hayek will be held to clear up all issues regarding power security.Lahoud has urged that dams approved by the government be brought into operation as soon as possible in order to obtain all possible benefits from hydropower.
