LCG, December 24, 2025--The U.S. Secretary of Energy today issued emergency orders to keep two Indiana coal plants operational, with the stated goal to ensure Americans in the Midwest region of the United States have access to affordable, reliable, and secure electricity heading into the winter months. The orders direct CenterPoint Energy, the Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO), and the Midcontinent Independent System Operator, Inc. (MISO) to take all measures necessary to ensure specified generation units at both the F.B. Culley and R.M. Schahfer generating stations in Indiana are available to operate.

LCG, December 18, 2025--RWE and Indiana Michigan Power Company (I&M), an American Electric Power (AEP) company, today announced their partnering to provide new wind power generation capacity online to meet Indiana’s growing electricity demand. The companies signed a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for the total output from RWE’s 200 MW Prairie Creek wind project in Blackford County, Indiana. I&M will purchase electricity from the wind project, which will further diversify its portfolio and be consistent with its all-of-the-above strategy to secure generation for its rapidly growing electricity demand.

Four senior executives have been appointed by the AES Corporation to the position of Chief Operating Officer, under the leadership of Dennis Bakke, president and chief executive officer. The four men, who will retain the title of Executive Vice President, are Paul Hanrahan (Growth Distribution), John Ruggirello (Contract Generation), J. Stuart Ryan (Competitive Supply), and Barry Sharp (Large Utilities). Each will have regional responsibilities. Three former vice presidents of AES Corp. have been promoted to senior vice president: William Luraschi, General Counsel; Shahzad Qasim, AES Oasis Group Manager, and Sarah Slusser, AES Aurora Group Manager.James H. Oglesby has been promoted to president and chief operating officer of the Southern Union Company's Missouri Gas Energy (MGE) division. Oglesby, who joined MGE in 1968, was made the chief operating officer of the division in September.New positions in risk management have been created by American Electric Power. The company has named Scott N. Smith senior vice president and chief risk officer; Stephan T. Haynes vice president - market risk oversight; Frank Hilton vice president and chief credit officer; and Douglas W. Payne, managing director - risk and insurance management.CH Energy Group has appointed Stephen V. Lant Chief Operating Officer and elected him to the corporation's board of directors. CH Energy Group is the corporate parent of the utility subsidiary Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation and the the non-regulated divisions Central Hudson Energy Services.Premcor Inc. has announced the appointment of Thomas D. O'Malley to the positions of chairman, chief executive officer, and president. O'Malley joined Premcor from Tosco Corporation, where he served as chairman and chief executive officer. He most recently served as vice chairman and a director of Phillips Petroleum when Tosco was acquired in September 2001 by Phillips Petroleum.William Bowers has been appointed vice president of Environmental Affairs at Alabama Power. Bowers was most recently general manager of environmental affairs at Alabama Power, having joined Alabama Power in 1971.
