LCG, June 10, 2026--Calpine, a business unit of Constellation, announced early this week the completion of a 25 MW expansion project at The Geysers geothermal complex located in Sonoma County, California. The addition builds on Calpine's continued investments in The Geysers to support California's renewable energy goals and to provide reliable, around-the-clock renewable power as the demand for clean electricity continues to grow.

California ISO Goes Ahead with $473 Million Upgrade
LCG, June 26, 2002--The California Independent System Operator has taken a step to remedy a transmission bottleneck on "Path 15."The ISO approved $437 million to expand Path 15, which connects Northern and Southern California.Two pre-existing 500 kilovolt lines will be joined by a third in the Central Valley, and major substations will be improved to add 1,500 MW in transmission. The project should be completed in 2004.The ISO says that the upgrade will yield $100 million a year in savings and up to $300 million in dry years.Pacific Gas and Electric utility, Trans-Elect Inc., and the Western Area Power Administration will pay for the project, although Trans-Elect will pay the most and therefore receive the larger part of the transmission rights.The project has yet to be approved by the California Public Utilities Commission.
