EPA Proposes Rule Changes to Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) Requirements to Restore American Energy Dominance

LCG, April 10, 2026--The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced yesterday a rule proposing several revisions to the federal regulations governing the disposal of coal combustion residuals (CCR) and the beneficial use of CCR. Judge Rules Cheney Has 30 Days to Submit Energy Documents

LCG, August 5, 2002-On Friday, a Federal Judge ruled that documents concerning a White House energy task force must be released within 30 days.

U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan found that the documents, related to Vice President Dick Cheney's National Energy Policy Development Group, were not protected by the Administrative Procedures Act or executive privilege.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Judge Sullivan said of the White House's opposition, "It is not appropriate to say, 'executive privilege;' it is not appropriate to say, 'This request is unconstitutional'"

She added, "Your position seems to be, 'The government wins because the government says this is what happened, and no one can ask what happened.'"
The suits were filed by Judicial Watch, a conservative Washington D.C. watchdog group, and the Sierra Club, with the intent to find names and origins of those involved with the National Energy Policy Development Group.

The Bush Administration provided information regarding the task force earlier this year but refused to release the names of businesses and agencies involved in the Group.
