Construction Starts on Panamint Capital's 1.2 GW Solar Project in Texas

LCG, July 23, 2026--Panamint Capital announced today that construction has commenced at Big Rooter Power, a nearly 1.2 GWdc solar PV project located at the company's Twin Oaks power station in Robertson County, Texas. The $1.7 billion will be the largest solar project built at an existing coal mining site in North America.

Armenia Privatizes Energy Industry

LCG, August 27, 2002Yesterday the government of Armenia agreed to sell 81 percent of its electricity system to Midland Resources Holding, Ltd.

The British company will share ownership of the system with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Of five companies interested and qualified to purchase Armenias electricity assets, only Midland Resources retained interest in buying.

After the Soviet breakdown, Armenia had capacity for only as little as 2 hours per day worth of electricity for some years.

The 81 percent of shares went for $37.15 million.
