LCG, May 7, 2026--PJM issued today its Summer Outlook 2026, which forecasts sufficient generation for typical peak demand this summer. PJM states that it is prepared to call on contracted demand response resources to reduce electricity use during times of high system stress.

LCG, May 6, 2026--Oklo Inc. ("Oklo"), an advanced nuclear technology company, announced today that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has approved the Principal Design Criteria (PDC) topical report for the Aurora-INL (Idaho National Laboratory) nuclear small modular reactor (SMR), which is currently under construction in Idaho. The PDC topical report establishes a regulatory framework that defines the fundamental safety, reliability, and performance requirements to guide future reactor licensing and design activities, and the approved report should simplify future applications and reduce the need to re-review established material.

Texas Units May Be Mothballed by Centerpoint Unit
LCG, Oct. 4, 2002--Citing a lack of demand for backup power produced at its older gas-fired facilities, CenterPoint Energy Inc.'s Texas Genco is asking the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) if it may temporarily shut down 3,400 megawatts of generation."The current surplus of generating capacity in ERCOT, coupled with the lack of bids for these units in our previous capacity auctions, has caused us to take this action," said Texas Genco president and CEO David Tees in a statement.The length of time during which the units could be taken offline would be through at least May 2003. If ERCOT finds that capacity is needed for reliability, some generation could remain operational. Texas Genco's generation portfolio totals over 14,000 megawatts, and extends to coal and nuclear-based as well as gas-fired plants.
