LCG, December 30, 2025--Duke Energy announced today its submission of an early site permit (ESP) application to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). The site is near the Belews Creek Steam Station in Stokes County, North Carolina. The submittal follows two years of work at the site, and the announcement states that the submittal is part of Duke Energy's strategic, on-going commitment to evaluate new nuclear generation options to reliably meet the growing electricity needs of its customers while reducing costs and risks.

Nevada Power Pays $22 Million Debt to Calpine
LCG, October 31, 2002-Las Vegas-based Nevada Power has paid all outstanding bills to San Jose's Calpine Corporation.$22 million in electricity generated and delivered between May 1, 2002 through September 15, 2002 has been paid for.In April, Nevada Power, which was experiencing financial difficulties, asked for an extension on payment and has since brought its debts to Calpine up-to-date.Nevada Power serves over 643,000 customers in Nevada.
