LCG, January 21, 2026--Sage Geosystems, the company pioneering Pressure Geothermal, today announced that it closed over $97 million in Series B funding to advance its geothermal power generation and energy storage solutions, including its first commercial next-generation geothermal power generation facility. Ormat Technologies, a vertically integrated company engaged in geothermal and recovered energy generation ("REG"), and Carbon Direct Capital, a growth equity investment firm, co-led Sage’s Series B round, representing the full backing of Sage and Pressure Geothermal technology from leaders in geothermal energy and growth capital.

LCG, January 15, 2026--Origis Energy today announced that Meta and the company signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) for the 240-MW (303-MWdc) Greyhound A Solar project in West Odessa, Texas. The Greyhound A Solar project is scheduled to achieve commercial operations by mid-2026.

Cable from New Jersey to Manhattan Approved
LCG, Apr. 16, 2003--A plan for an underwater cable of about eight miles in length proposed by a unit of Public Service Enterprise Group Inc. as a way to bring power into New York City was approved by the New York State Public Service Commission yesterday.The proposal was made by PSEG Power Cross Hudson Corp., and if built would "bring power from an efficient, gas-fired combined cycle facility into New York City and will help displace the use of older, less efficient generation sources," the chairman of the Public Service Commission, William M. Flynn, said in a statement. The cable would run from Ridgefield, New Jersey to Manhattan's west side, and be buried in the Hudson River for part of its length. The capacity of the line would be 345 kilovolts alternating current.New York City's demand for power has been increasing at such a rate that there is concern about sufficient generation to maintain supplies and reliability.
