LCG, February 12, 2026--Hydrostor today announced that the Willow Rock Energy Storage Center has signed a 50 MW offtake agreement with California Community Power (CC Power) on behalf of six of its community choice aggregator members: CleanPowerSF, Peninsula Clean Energy, Redwood Coast Energy Authority, San Jose Clean Energy, Silicon Valley Clean Energy Authority and Valley Clean Energy Authority.

LCG, February 4, 2026--Natura Resources LLC (Natura), a developer of advanced molten-salt nuclear reactors, announced yesterday that it has signed an agreement with NGL Water Solutions Permian LLC, a subsidiary of NGL Energy Partners LP (NGL), to pursue opportunities to combine Natura's advanced nuclear reactor technology with thermal desalination for power production and oil and gas produced water treatment. NGL transports, treats, recycles and disposes of more than 3 million barrels per day of produced and flowback water generated from crude oil and natural gas production in the Permian Basin.

Northern Italy's Water Shortage Threatens Power Supply
LCG, July 15, 2003--The level of the Po, Italy's largest river, has dropped to the lowest level observed in 100 years, raising the possibility that a second power station, near Venice, could be closed within two weeks.Both hydropower plants and fossil-fuel plants might have to be shut down, without sufficient water to either power the turbines or provide cooling. June brought high temperatures, increasing the level of demand for power on the electrical system. The strain resulted in power being cut in Rome, Milan and Turin. The situation is serious enough that the national civil protection chief, Guido Bertolaso, indicated that the country might not be able to provide irrigation to farmers as well as power for industry in the northern part of the country. Bertolaso said that sacrifices might have to be made by particular regions or types of industries.One possible source of water is in the major lakes Como, Maggiore and Garda, which support a tourist industry on the southern slopes of the Alps. Tourist boats would likely be affected by the changed levels of the lakes, and poorer navigability.A public campaign has begun to encourage water conservation, although if there is no rainfall in the next few weeks, it appears likely that some constituencies will need to go without either water or power, whether voluntarily or not.
