Indiana Plant Expansion Completed

LCG, June 3, 2003-Mirant Corporation's Sugar Creek Energy generation facility saw the addition of over 200 megawatts of combined-cycle capacity come on line Sunday.

When the first stage of the plant was completed in 2002, it was a simple-cycle, natural-gas fired peaking facility, capable of 318 megawatts of capacity. The completion of the combined-cycle means the entire plant may produce up to 550 megawatts.

Sugar Creek Energy is located near Terre Haute, Indiana.
