LCG, November 5, 2026--NTT DATA, an AI, digital business and technology services company, today announced an agreement with Bloom Energy to deploy 900 MW of Bloom Energy's fuel cell technology to power multiple data center projects around the world. LCG, November 2, 2026--Vistra Corp. announced on October 30 that, following receipt of all required regulatory approvals, it has completed the acquisition of Cogentrix Energy from funds managed by Quantum Capital Group. The acquisition consists of 10 natural gas-fired power generation facilities totaling nearly 5,500 MW of capacity. The addition of Cogentrix's facilities to Vistra's existing generation portfolio raises Vistra's U.S. generation portfolio to nearly 50,000 MW.

Southern Announces Another Joint Development Project for New Nuclear Reactors
LCG, March 16, 2006--Southern Company (Southern) today announced that it has executed an agreement with Duke Power (Duke) to jointly pursue the development of a new nuclear power plant at a site in Cherokee County, South Carolina. Duke will be the developer and plant operator, and Southern will be a co-owner of the plant.
Duke had previously announced plans to pursue the development of a new nuclear plant, but the site had not been identified. Now Duke plans to proceed to prepare an application to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for a combined construction and operating license (COL) for two Westinghouse AP1000 reactors to be built at the Cherokee County site. The COL is scheduled to be submitted to the NRC by early 2008.
Last week Southern announced another joint proposal with Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) whereby the two companies would jointly pursue the construction of two new nuclear reactors at TVA's Bellefonte plant site near Scottsboro, Alabama. The Bellefonte plant would also incorporate the AP1000 design, which includes a generating capacity of approximately 1,100 MW. Similarly, Southern has selected the AP1000 for two new reactors at its existing Plant Vogtle, located in Georgia.
The AP1000 reactor incorporates passive safety features that rely upon natural forces. The NRC approved the Design Certification for the AP1000 standard nuclear plant design on December 30, 2005. Since receiving NRC approval, the AP1000 is leading other reactor vendors and has also been selected by Progress Carolinas, SCANA and Santee Cooper as the basis for additional COL applications to construct new nuclear reactors.
Duke continues to evaluate the preparation of early site permit (ESP) applications for locations in Oconee County, S.C., and Davie County, North Carolina.
