LCG, October 23, 2025--Google announced today a first-of-its kind agreement to support a natural gas-fired power plant with carbon capture and storage (CCS). The 400-MW Broadwing Energy power project, located in Decatur, Illinois, will capture and permanently store its carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. By agreeing to buy most of the power it generates, Google is helping get this new, baseload power source built and connected to the regional grid that supports our data centers.

LCG, October 21, 2025--The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) today issued three final Underground Injection Control (UIC) Class VI permits to ExxonMobil for their Rose Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) Project located in Jefferson County, Texas. Under the Safe Drinking Water Act, these permits allow ExxonMobil to convert three existing test wells permitted by the state to carbon dioxide (CO2) storage injection wells for long-term storage.

PPM Energy Starts Construction to Expand Oregon Wind Farm
LCG, November 10, 2006--PPM Energy, a U.S. subsidiary of ScottishPower, announced yesterday that construction of the Klondike III Wind Project near Wasco, Oregon has commenced. The project, which will have a generating capacity of 221 MW, is scheduled to begin commercial operations next year.
The Klondike III Wind Project will be developed adjacent to PPM?s existing Klondike I and Klondike II Wind Power Plants, which have generating capacities of 24 MW and 75 MW, respectively. The Klondike III wind farm will include 44 Siemens 2.3 MW wind turbines and 80 GE 1.5 MW wind turbines. Collectively, the three projects will provide a generating capacity of 320 MW.
PPM Energy stated that it is in discussions with a number of entities for the sale of energy and renewable energy credits from the Klondike III Wind Project.
