LCG, January 9, 2026--Meta today announced new, landmark agreements that will (i) extend and expand the operation of three existing nuclear power plants and (ii) drive the development of advanced nuclear technology. Meta's new agreements with Vistra, TerraPower, and Oklo follow Meta's request for proposals (RFP) issued last month. Meta expects these projects to deliver up to 6.6 GW of new and existing clean nuclear energy by 2035.

LCG, January 8, 2026--Babcock & Wilcox (B&W) announced today that it has selected Siemens Energy to provide steam turbine generator sets for B&W’s groundbreaking project to install and deliver one GW of power for an Applied Digital AI Factory. B&W and Siemens have entered into an agreement for a limited notice to proceed to secure the turbine sets, which will enable B&W to deliver power for the project by the end of 2028. The estimated cost of the project is approximately $2 billion. The full contract release is expected in the first quarter of 2026.

Pacific Power Plans Wind Project at Former Coal Mine
LCG, July 18, 2007--Pacific Power, a subsidiary of MidAmerican Energy, plans to develop a 99-MW wind project in Wyoming using part of a restored surface coal mine. The project willprovide additional renewable energy for the customers of Pacific Power.
The Glenrock Wind Energy Project will include 66 wind turbines. Construction is scheduled for next year, with operations to commence by October 2008. The project will be built about 12 miles north of Glenrock at Pacific Power's former Dave Johnston Coal Mine, a surface coal mine that operated for 40 years prior to being shut down in 2000. The site has been generally restored to its original appearance.
On July 3, Pacific Power requested a certificate of public convenience and necessity from the Wyoming Public Service Commission and has submitted the project for review.
Pacific Power provides electric service to customers in Oregon, Washington and California and is part of PacifiCorp, which was acquired by MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company in 2006. MidAmerican Energy Company, an Iowa-based utility subsidiary of MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company, operates one of the largest fleets of wind farms in the country.
