X-energy Commences First Irradiation Tests of Advanced TRISO-X Nuclear Fuel at Idaho National Laboratory

LCG, November 6, 2025--X-energy Reactor Company, LLC, (X-energy) and the U.S. Office of Nuclear Energy today announced the start of confirmatory irradiation testing at Idaho National Laboratory (INL) to qualify X-energy’s proprietary TRISO-X fuel pebbles for commercial use in the Xe-100 Small Modular Reactor (SMR). (TRISO stands for TRi-structural ISOtropic). NextEra Energy and Google Collaborate on Accelerating Nuclear Power Deployment

LCG, October 28, 2025--NextEra Energy and Google yesterday announced two agreements that will help meet growing electricity demand from artificial intelligence (AI) with clean, reliable, 24/7 nuclear power and strengthen the nation's nuclear leadership. First, Google signed a new, 25-year agreement for power generated at the Duane Arnold Energy Center, Iowa's only nuclear power facility. Construction Starts on FPL's 10-MW Solar Project

LCG, May 29, 2009--Construction activities are now underway on the Space Coast Next Generation Solar Energy Center, located at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The 10-MW, solar photovoltaic (PV) power project is a public-private partnership between Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) and NASA.

The Space Coast Next Generation Solar Energy Center will employ Sunpower PV panels and SunPower Tracker technology, which moves the panels to follow the sun throughout the day and increase the solar energy converted to power. The project will use approximately 35,000 solar PV panels installed over 60 acres. The power generated will be used by FPL's customers in Florida.

In late February, FPL began construction on a similar project, the DeSoto Next Generation Solar Energy Center, that will provide 25 MW of solar PV power to FPL's customers. FPL has stated that the DeSoto project will be the largest solar PV facility in the nation when it is complete at the end of 2009.
