The True North Solar project will deliver electricity into ERCOT and support Meta's operations, including Meta's upcoming data center in neighboring Temple, its second data center in Texas.

LCG, March 26, 2025--Qcells USA Corp. (Qcells), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hanwha Qcells, and Nofar USA (Nofar), a wholly owned subsidiary of Nofar Energy, recently announced a signed agreement to cooperate on the development and construction of two energy storage projects in Texas. The projects have a combined capacity of 350 MW with a 2-hour duration (700 MWh).

Bruce Power Restart of Unit 2 Continues in Ontario
LCG, March 22, 2012--TransCanada Corporation (TransCanada) recently announced that Bruce Power received authorization from the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission to power up the Unit 2 reactor, enabling the transition from the construction and commissioning phases of the project to start-up. Commercial operations are now expected to commence in the second quarter.
"This positive development represents the final major step necessary toward bringing the reactor into service," said Russ Girling, TransCanada's president and chief executive officer. "When we committed to additional investments in Bruce A, we said the re-start project was an attractive, long-term growth opportunity for TransCanada. With this milestone being reached, we move further toward realizing the sustainable earnings we expect Bruce Power to generate."
Bruce Power consists of two generating stations (Bruce A & B) with each station housing four nuclear reactors. Six of those reactors are currently operational and producing more than 4,700 MW of power. Two, 750-MW units are being refurbished, and Bruce Power expects the Unit 1 reactor to commence operations in the third quarter of 2012.
TransCanada owns 49 per cent of Bruce A and 32 per cent of Bruce B. Bruce Power operates the Bruce A and Bruce B nuclear power stations in Ontario.
Following authorization from the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, Bruce Power initiated final safety checks for the Unit 2 reactor as preparations begin to synchronize the unit to Ontario's electricity grid. The company's operations team detected a leak on a Unit 2 pump system during restart activities over the weekend, and the unit was shut down. Bruce Power said it has since restarted its Unit 2 reactor following completion of minor repairs to a pump system.
Bruce Power stated, "There was no impact on the rest of Bruce A, the public, external environment or worker safety."
Bruce Power is a partnership among Cameco Corporation, TransCanada Corporation, BPC Generation Infrastructure Trust, a trust established by the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System, the Power Workers' Union and The Society of Energy Professionals.
