LCG, October 21, 2026--The Nuclear Company today announced a proposed nuclear energy campus in Kentucky that could potentially provide 6.6 GW of electric generating capacity. The Prosperity One nuclear energy campus, located along the Ohio River in eastern Kentucky, could accommodate up to six Westinghouse AP1000 reactors and would be the largest nuclear power generation site in the nation if fully constructed.

LCG, October 16, 2026--The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) announced on Thursday its new proposal to revise and accelerate its review of air quality effects for proposed natural gas projects under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The draft policy statement highlights revisions designed to (i) avoid unnecessary delays and duplicative analysis and (ii) deliver greater regulatory certainty and a streamlined path forward for project applicants.

EDF Renewables North America Announces 620-MW Palen Solar Site is Fully Operational
LCG, August 19, 2022--EDF Renewables North America (EDFR) announced Wednesday that the 620-MW Palen Solar site is now fully operational and delivering carbon-free energy to the grid. The site, located in Riverside County, California, consists of four solar PV projects, with one project including 200 MWh (50 MW) of battery energy storage. Construction activity at the site commenced in early 2020, with the four projects completed starting in December 2020.
The Senior Vice President, Implementation & Projects Management for EDFR stated, “The Maverick projects are the cornerstone of our large-scale solar and storage growth and expertise. The renewable energy industry has experienced significant volatility over the past years battling both unprecedented pandemic and supply chain constraints. We are excited to now have all four projects operating at full capacity and to contribute to California’s climate goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 40 percent below 1990 levels by 2030.”
The four projects at the Palen Solar site use horizontal single-axis tracking technology. EDF Renewables’ Asset Optimization group will perform operations and maintenance services at the site for the life of the project. The services include NERC compliance support, remote monitoring, and balance-of-plant management to maximize power production.
The projects are located adjacent to each other on unincorporated land administered by the Federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM). The BLM has designated this area as a Solar Energy Zone (SEZ) and Development Focus Area, land set aside for utility-scale renewable energy development.
