TVA and ENTRA1 Energy Announce Collaborative Agreement in Landmark 6-Gigawatt NuScale SMR Deployment Program - Largest in U.S. History

LCG, September 3, 2025--The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and ENTRA1 Energy (ENTRA1) yesterday announced a new agreement to advance nuclear power development within TVA’s service region. Under the agreement, ENTRA1 Energy will collaborate with TVA to deploy six ENTRA1 Energy Plants™, each powered by multiple NuScale Power Modules™, to provide up to 6 GW of firm, 24/7 baseload power.

The NuScale Power Module™ is the first and only SMR to have its designs certified by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. NuScale’s modular, factory-fabricated design is intended to offer construction efficiency and scalability. The design incorporates a pressurized water reactor, and each reactor can generate 77 MWe or 250 MWth. The SMRs can be scaled to meet customer needs through an array of flexible configurations up to 924 MWe (12 modules) of output.

"TVA is leading the nation in pursuing new nuclear technologies, and no utility in the U.S. is working harder or faster than TVA. This agreement with ENTRA1 Energy highlights the vital role public-private partnerships play in advancing next-generation nuclear technologies that are essential to providing energy security - reliable, abundant American energy - and creating jobs and investment across the nation," said the President and CEO of TVA.

ENTRA1 plans to develop and own the portfolio of power infrastructure assets and sell the power output to TVA under future power purchase agreements (PPAs). The collaboration may provide new, reliable baseload power to supply the growing electricity demand resulting from rapid deployment of new data centers, quantum computing, semiconductor manufacturing facilities, and other energy-intensive technologies.

NuScale and ENTRA1 Energy have a global strategic partnership, and ENTRA1 Energy is NuScale’s exclusive global strategic partner for commercializing and developing NuScale small modular reactors (SMRs). As NuScale's strategic partner, ENTRA1 Energy's responsibility is the deployment, financing, investment, development, execution, and management of ENTRA1 Energy Plants™ with NuScale's SMRs inside.

"The ENTRA1 team brings deep experience in investing in, developing, and executing power infrastructure. Our focus is on deploying best-in-class American technologies in the nuclear SMR and natural gas-fired power sectors – and that is what we are doing in the immediate term via our partnership with NuScale SMRs. We're investing in the next generation of power solutions to meet the country's growing energy demands," said ENTRA1's Energy Chief Projects Officer.

NuScale’s President and Chief Executive Officer stated, "We are honored that ENTRA1 has selected NuScale’s U.S. NRC-approved SMR technology for this historic deployment in delivering power to the TVA region. ENTRA1’s team of energy and finance veterans brings exceptional value to our partnership—combining energy sales knowledge, investment and asset management capabilities, deep project finance expertise, and experience in delivering large-scale power infrastructure. Their experience is exactly what is required as we enter this critical next phase of commercializing and deploying NuScale Power Modules™ into ENTRA1 Energy Plants™. Together, we are ready as partners to meet America’s surging demand for reliable, carbon-free baseload power—powering AI data centers, critical mining, semiconductor manufacturing, and the energy-intensive industries that are driving our nation’s economic future."
