LCG, April 29, 2026--Graphic Packaging Holding Company today announced a virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) with NextEra Energy Resources, LLC. With the VPPA agreement, NextEra Energy Resources plans to build the Selenite Springs Energy Center, a 250-MW solar energy facility in West Texas, and Graphic Packaging will be the sole buyer of the facility's renewable energy attribute certificates. Graphic Packaging, a global provider of sustainable consumer packaging, expects the agreement to cover approximately 43 percent of its 2025 electricity usage in the U.S. and Canada. The agreement will advance Graphic Packaging's commitment to source renewable electricity and reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

LCG, April 29, 2026--PJM Interconnection today announced that 811 new generation projects applied to connect to the grid through the first Cycle of PJM's new reformed interconnection process, which is designed to improve the certainty, speed and discipline of generation project review. In total, the generation applications would be capable of generating 220 GW of electricity.

King County, Wash., Sewage Gas to Run Fuel Cell
LCG, July 18, 2000--Fuel Cell Energy Inc. said this morning that it has been selected the winning bidder in competitive negotiations with King County, Wash., for installation of a 1 megawatt fuel cell electricity generator at a county sewage plant in Renton.The company said it expects to deliver the generator next year, with financial and other details to be made available upon completion of contract terms.The fuel cell will use methane-rich gas from the sewage plants digester, the company said. The Fuel Cell Energy unit will be part of a demonstration program supported by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the King County Department of Natural Resources.Jerry Leitman, president and chief executive of Fuel Cell Energy said "We see this large water treatment application as further validation of our carbonate technology and its capability with multiple fuels for commercial applications. We anticipate that applications for water treatment will be a significant new market."
