Xcel Energy and "Allies" Request Retirement Extension for Comanche Generating Station Unit 2

LCG, November 12, 2025--Xcel Energy, together with the Utility Consumer Advocate (UCA), Colorado Energy Office (CEO), and Trial Staff of the Public Utilities Commission (PUC), filed a petition on November 10 requesting Commission approval to keep Comanche Generating Station Unit 2 available for up to one additional year after its currently planned retirement on December 31, 2025.

Robert L. Culver has been elected a director of Niagara Mohawk Holdings Inc. He is executive vice president and chief financial officer of Cabot Corp., a leading specialty chemical manufacturer.

James M. Funk has been appointed a senior vice president of Equitable Resources Inc.. He is also president of subsidiary Equitable Production, the largest natural gas producer in the Appalachian basin with facilities in Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky and Virginia.

Robert G. McCoy has joined TXU Corp. as president of its TXU Energy Services unit. He most recently was president of the retail markets unit of GTE, where he was responsible for more than $10 billion in revenue and for serving over 15 million customers nationwide.

George L. Miles Jr. has been elected a director of Equitable Resources Inc. and will serve on the boards audit committee until the next annual meeting of shareholders. He is president and chief executive of regional broadcaster-publisher WQED Pittsburgh.

Michael R. Niggli, chairman and chief executive of Sierra Pacific Resources Corp., will resign to pursue other business opportunities. He will be replaced as chairman on an interim basis by James R. Donnelley who has been a director since 1987. The company said it will be conducting a search to replace Niggli.

Honorio J. Padron has been appointed a senior vice president of Unicom Corp. with responsibility for shared services efforts, including information services, supply management, financial, human resources and legal services. Most recently, he was executive vice president for process engineering and chief information officer of CompUSA, Inc.

William L. Sigmon Jr. has been named vice president for fossil and hydro - east by American Electric Power Co. Inc., succeeding Charles Weaver, who plans to retire August 31. Sigmon joins AEP from Duke Energy North America, where he was senior vice president of projectmanagement and technical services.

Gordon van Welie will become executive vice president and chief operating officer of ISO New England Inc. on September 1. He joins the independent system operator from Siemens Power Transmission & Distribution Inc., where most recently he was vice president and general manager of the power systems control division.

Stephen F. Wood has been named vice president for engineering services in the electric operations organization of Consolidated Edison Co. of New York. He most recently wasvice president for electric transmission and distribution with Baltimore Gas & Electric Co.
