LCG, Oct. 19, 2000--Calpine Corp. said yesterday it had completed the purchase of Northbrook, Ill.-based SkyGen Energy from its founder, Michael Polsky, and from Wisvest Corp., an affiliate of Wisconsin Energy Corp.

Calpine will operate SkyGen as a subsidiary with Polsky as president. Polsky will also join Calpine's board of directors.

As a result of the acquisition Calpine has added to its portfolio three operating facilities, five projects under construction, 10 late-stage development facilities and 16 project development opportunities.
