Anil Ahuja has been appointed director of new product and service development by Exelon Services, an unregulated business of Exelon Enterprises which is a division of Exelon Corp., the big utility formed from the merger of Peco Energy Co. and Unicom Corp. Ahuja has 22 years of experience in building systems design, design management, construction coordination, operations and commissioning.

David P. Beaulieu has been named by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission as senior resident inspector at Baltimore Gas & Electric Co.'s Calvert Cliffs nuclear plant in Lusby, Md. He most recently was a resident inspector at Millstone Station in Waterford, Conn.

Robert P. Brace has been named executive vice president and chief financial officer by Duke Energy Corp.. He joins Duke from British Telecommunications plc in London wherehe served as group finance director, the company's lead finance position.

Matthew C. Cordaro has resigned as president and chief executive officer of the Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator Inc. to explore other opportunities. James P. Torgerson, vice president and chief financial officer, was named by the ISO board to succeed Cordaro.

Andrew J. Dearman will become the first chief transmission officer of The Southern Co. on January 2. He is currently senior vice president and chief technical officer with subsidiary Southern Energy Inc.

Peter V. Fazio Jr., general counsel of Nisource Inc., has been promoted to executive vice president and general counsel of the Indiana utility.

Belinda Foxworth has been promoted to senior vice president and general counselof CMS Enterprises Co., the diversified energy business unit of CMS Energy Corp. She was previously vice president and general counsel.

Darlene D. Kerr has been elected president and chief operating officer of Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. She joined Niagara Mohawk in 1973 as a junior methods analyst and rose in 1998 to executive vice president and chief operating officer of the company's energy delivery business, her most recent position.

Neville O. Lorick has been named president and chief operating officer of South Carolina Electric & Gas Co., replacing Jack Skolds, who resigned from SCE&G in August. Lorick had been serving as acting president and was previously vice president of fossil and hydroelectricoperations.

Charles R. Mandrell has been appointed vice president for construction by Exelon Services, an unregulated business of Exelon Enterprises which is a division of Exelon Corp., the big utility formed from the merger of Peco Energy Co. and Unicom Corp. Mandrell brings to Exelon a 16-year background in the heating, ventilating and air-conditioning business.

Lois M. James has been named by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission as resident inspector at the Indian Point 3 nuclear plant in Buchanan, New York. She joined the NRC's Region I office as a reactor engineer in 1997 and has been a region-based inspector conducting engineering, maintenance, and operations inspections at various Region I nuclear plants.

David Jones will retire as chief executive of Britain's National Grid Group Plc in March, saying it was time to go after seven years at the helm. He will be replaced by the company's UK and Europe head, Roger Urwin.

Cheryl Mills, senior vice president for corporate policy and public programming with Oxygen Media, has been elected to the board of directors of Orion Power Holdings Inc.

Leigh Pefley, currently vice president for corporate services with Cinergy Corp., has been named vice president and chief financial officer of the energy delivery business unit.

James E. Rogers, president and chief executive of Cinergy Corp., has been elected chairman of the board, replacing Jackson H. Randolph, chairman since 1994, who will become chairman emeritus.

Jeffrey K. Skilling has been elected chief executive officer of Enron Corp., effective February 12, the date of the company's next regularly scheduled board meeting. He will assume this role in addition to his current responsibilities as president and chief operating officer. Kenneth L. Lay will continue to serve as chairman of the board.

Wayne K. Tarney has been named president of three of the unregulated retail businesses of New Jersey Resources Corp., NJR Home Services Co., NJR Natural Energy Co. and NJR Power Services Corp. Tarney was most recently senior vice president in charge of customer service for New Jersey Natural Gas Co.

Vincent Tese, currently chairman of Wireless Cable International Inc., has been elected to the board of directors of Orion Power Holdings Inc.

Timothy J. Verhagen has been hired as vice president of human resources by Cinergy Corp. He joins Cinergy from United Dominion Industries Ltd., a diversified manufacturer ofindustrial test equipment in Charlotte, N.C., where he was senior vice president, human resources andadministration.

Executive Promotions Announced at Tampa Utility
The Teco Power Services subsidiary of Teco Energy Inc., which also owns Tampa Electric Co., has announced six executive promotions, including three senior vice presidents.

  • George D. Jennings Jr., formerly vice president for engineering and operations, has been promoted to senior vice president with the same responsibilities.

  • Michael R. Schuyler, formerly vice president for marketing and development, has also been made a senior vice president.

  • Linda A. Miller, another vice president, has been promoted to senior vice president for project finance.

  • Kevin E. Fleming has been promoted to vice president for engineering.

  • Michael R. Carlson has been promoted to vice president for development.

  • Lucinda J. Saporta has been promoted to assistant vice president for asset management.
