LCG, May 19, 2026--Avangrid, Inc., a member of the Iberdrola Group, today announced the signing of a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Puget Sound Energy (PSE) for the 199.5-MW Big Horn I wind project in Klickitat County, Washington. This agreement represents the fourth PPA executed by the two companies for projects in the Pacific Northwest.

LCG, May 18, 2026--The U.S. Secretary of Energy today issued an emergency order to address critical grid reliability issues in the Midwest anticipated this summer. The order is in effect beginning on May 19, 2026, through August 16, 2026. The emergency order directs the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO), in coordination with Consumers Energy, to ensure that the J.H. Campbell coal-fired power plant (Campbell Plant) in West Olive, Michigan shall take all steps necessary to remain available to operate and to minimize costs for the region.

Paul J. Allen will join Constellation Energy Group on April 5 as a vice president. Upon separation of the holding company into two, publicly traded corporations later this year, he willbecome vice president for corporate affairs for the new merchant energy company. In his current position as a senior vice president of Ogilvy Public Relations in Washington, D.C., Allen has worked with Constellation and its regulated subsidiary Baltimore Gas & Electric Co.Joyce Bloom has been named senior vice president of human resources by KeySpan Services, an unregulated unit of natural gas distributor KeySpan Corp. Before joining KeySpan, she was vice president for human resources with the Leviton Manufacturing Co., an electrical devices and electronic equipment manufacturer.C.B. Harreld has been named chief financial officer and controller of Southern Company Generation and Energy Marketing, the generation and energy sales and trading unit of The Southern Co. He will also occupy those positions with Southern Power Company, a new subsidiary which will own, manage and finance the company's competitive generation assets. Harreld most recently was chief financial officer of Southern Energy's Europe Group in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.Claude Hayes has been named senior vice president of KeySpan Services, an unregulated unit of natural gas distributor KeySpan Corp., and president of the subsidiary's Home Energy Services division. He most recently was senior vice president of the Superior Fireplace Co. of Fullerton,Calif., the nation's largest and oldest manufacturer of gas fireplaces and heaters.Gene Hodges has announced he will retire from Georgia Power Co. as executive vice president for customer operations, effective June 1. He began his career with Georgia Power in 1963 as a student accountant in Valdosta.Tim Hoeg has been assigned by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission as senior resident inspector at Entergy Corp.'s Grand Gulf nuclear power plant near Port Gibson, Miss. He has most recently been director of the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards, in which position he also served as director of the Spent Fuel Project Office from 1997 to 1999.David Pope has been named president of Dynegy Canada, a Calgary-based subsidiary of Dynegy Inc. Before joining Dynegy, Pope was a vice president of Enron Corp., most recently assigned to Europe.Michael Walker has been named senior vice president and general counsel of KeySpan Services, an unregulated unit of natural gas distributor KeySpan Corp. Since 1995, he has served as chairman of the energy sector services group and as a member of the corporate finance and technology groups of Buchanan Ingersoll.
