TVA Announces Two Energy Storage Agreements Totaling 425 MW/1,700 MWh

LCG, April 22, 2026--The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) yesterday announced two new, 20-year agreements for a 225 MW/900 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) project in East Tennessee and for a 200 MW/800 MWh BESS project in northern Alabama. Suniva Announces New Facility to Dramatically Increase Solar Cell Manufacturing Capacity in America

LCG, April 15, 2026--Suniva announced yesterday that it has entered agreements to bring a state-of-the-art 4.5 GW solar cell manufacturing facility to Laurens, South Carolina. The new facility, combined with Suniva’s existing facility at its headquarters in metro Atlanta, will bring the company’s total annual domestic solar cell manufacturing capacity to over 5.5 GW.

FPL Unit May Build 500 Megawatt Louisiana Plant

LCG, April 10, 2001The Shreveport-Bossier Port Commission in Louisiana said yesterday it is in negotiations with Florida-based FPL Energy for the company to build and operate a 500 megawatt power plant at the Red River port.

The commission said that construction on the plant could begin in the spring of 2002 and the facility could begin producing power in 2003. The expected cost of the facility is between $400 million and $500 million.

FPL Energy is a subsidiary of FPL Group Inc.
