LCG, December 30, 2025--Duke Energy announced today its submission of an early site permit (ESP) application to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). The site is near the Belews Creek Steam Station in Stokes County, North Carolina. The submittal follows two years of work at the site, and the announcement states that the submittal is part of Duke Energy's strategic, on-going commitment to evaluate new nuclear generation options to reliably meet the growing electricity needs of its customers while reducing costs and risks.

Joseph M. Buonaiuto has joined American Electric Power Co. as senior vice president and controller, effective immediately. He most recently was a partner with the London office of Deloitte & Touche, an international professional services and accounting firm.Dean H. Hall has been promoted to senior vice president for development of PrimaryEnergy, Inc., a subsidiary of Nisource Inc. He joined Nisource in 1993 as a principal executive for industrial marketing and has been with Primary Energy since its inception in 1996 as vice president of development.Elizabeth McCarthy, vice president and chief accounting officer of DPL Inc. since joining the firm in April, 2000, had been promoted to chief financial officer. DPL is the holding company for Dayton Power & Light Co. Paul J. Posoli has been promoted to senior vice president of Calpine Energy Services, a unit of Calpine Corp. He joined Calpine in May, 1999 as vice president for corporate risk management.
