LCG, April 10, 2026--The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced yesterday a rule proposing several revisions to the federal regulations governing the disposal of coal combustion residuals (CCR) and the beneficial use of CCR. The EPA designed the rule to encourage resource recovery, allow for site-specific considerations in permitting, and provide regulatory relief while continuing to protect human health and the environment. The EPA will be accepting comments on the rule for 60 days after publication in the Federal Register, and it will also hold an online public hearing on the rule.

LCG, April 9, 2026--Vault 44.01 Ltd. (Vault) announced today that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 5 has issued a final Underground Injection Control (UIC) Class VI permit for the One Carbon Partnership CCS project (the "OCP Project") near Union City, Indiana. The One Carbon Partnership is a joint venture between Cardinal Ethanol and Vault.

Cal ISO Warns of Possible Power Shortages
LCG, Oct. 3, 2001--The California Independent System Operator warned yesterday of possible electricity shortages as 9,300 megawatts of generation could be off-line toward the end of October due to plant maintenance, emission reduction projects, "forced" or unplanned outages, and low water conditions.If the repair work were to coincide with a high-demand day, operating reserves could fall below critical levels, Cal ISO said. The state has not seen rolling blackouts since May 8 and the ISO doesn't want to declare a Stage 3 emergency which would bring them on.Cal ISO said it expects to have enough power available today and through the month of October to meet the forecast demand, as long as conservation continues, but stresses the importance of conservation as an important tool to help the it balance the grid and lower consumers bills.The agency is urging Californians to continue using less power, and specifically to use less power during the peak hours between 2:00 and 7:00 p.m.
