LCG, October 6, 2026--Google and Constellation Energy today announced a long-term strategic clean energy collaboration to bring 890 MW of new, reliable, carbon-free nuclear capacity onto the PJM Interconnection grid to meet growing demand and increase grid reliability. LCG, October 5, 2026--The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Energy Dominance Financing (EDF) today announced a conditional loan commitment of up to $4.2 billion to finance nuclear uprates and modernization across Vistra’s nuclear fleet in Pennsylvania and Ohio. The projects are expected to preserve nearly 4 GW of carbon-free, baseload power and add 433 MW of new nuclear capacity that will support the growing electricity demand across the PJM region.

BC Gas to Buy Westcoast Energy's Centra Gas
LCG, Oct. 22, 2001--BC Gas Inc. has entered into an agreement to acquire the common shares of Centra Gas British Columbia Inc. and Centra Gas Whistler Inc. from Westcoast Energy Inc. for $208 million ($131 million U.S.), Canada NewsWire reported this morning.Westcoast, which is being acquired by Duke Energy Corp. for $3.5 billion, also said this morning it would sell its energy services unit to the city of Edmonton's Epcor Utilities Inc.John Reid, chief executive of BC Gas, said "Centra Gas has excellent growth potential, including the expansion of natural gas service to residential and commercial customers and the opportunity to service gas-fired electricity generating plants on Vancouver Island."The deal gives BC Gas control of all Centra Gas's Vancouver Island and Sunshine Coast assets, including 382 miles of high-pressure transmission mains and close to 2,000 miles of intermediate-pressure transmission and distribution mains. Centra Gas currently provides natural gas to 70,000 homes and businesses and seven pulp mills on Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast.Epcor's purchase of Westcoast's wholly owned Union Energy will add more than 900,000 customers, mainly in Ontario, to its existing customer base and create one of Canada's largest providers of energy and energy related services, the company said in a statement.
