LCG, June 23, 2025--The Governor of New York today directed the New York Power Authority (NYPA) to develop and construct an advanced nuclear power plant in upstate New York to deliver zero-emission power that supports a reliable and affordable electric grid. NYPA will lead the effort to develop at least one new nuclear energy facility with a combined capacity of at least one gigawatt (GW) of electricity, either alone or in partnership with private entities. The directive builds on the Governor’s 2025 State of the State to develop nuclear energy plans in New York.

PacifiCorp Unit Inks 2 Long-term Wind Power Deals
LCG, Dec. 17, 2001--PacifiCorp and the Bonneville Power Administration announced jointly on Friday the federal power agency's largest renewable energy purchase in Bonneville's history.PacifiCorp Power Marketing Inc. will supply Bonneville with 90 megawatts from the Stateline Wind Generating Plant on the Washington-Oregon border for a period of 25 years at undisclosed prices.Terry Hudgens, chief executive of the PacifiCorp unit, said "I believe that our two organizations complement each other very well, and look forward to future business opportunities with (Bonneville). Ours is a partnership that can only advance the cause of renewable energy in the Pacific Northwest."Steve Wright, acting Bonneville administrator. "We believe wind energy brings economic and environmental benefits to Northwest citizens."In addition to the Bonneville deal, PacifiCorp Power Marketing said it has signed with Seattle City Light the biggest public utility wind power contract to date in the United States. Under the 20-year contract, Seattle City Light will start buying 50 megawatts of power in January of next year, doubling to 100 megawatts in August 2002, then 150 megawatts in January 2004 and, potentially, to 175 megawatts in August 2004.
