LCG, July 2, 2025--Alliant Energy today announced plans to add up to 1,000 MW of wind energy generating capacity in Iowa to meet demand and ensure reliable, affordable energy for its customers. The plans are included in a filing with the Iowa Utilities Commission (IUC), and the company anticipates a decision from the IUC in the first quarter of 2026.

NYPA to Install 8 Fuel Cells at Sewage Plants
LCG, Dec. 19, 2001--The New York Power Authority plans to install eight 200 kilowatt fuel cells manufactured by a unit of United Technologies Corp. at four wastewater treatment plants in New York City, UTC Fuel Cells said this morning.Waste gases from the sewage treatment process, which would ordinarily be burned off into the atmosphere, will provide fuel for the small generators, the company said."The New York Power Authority continues to be a leader in the adoption of fuel cells to provide clean, reliable and efficient power for customers," said William T. Miller, president of UTC Fuel Cells, adding "This most recent sale caps our best year ever for commercial sales of PC25 power plants in the U.S., and we are optimistic for another strong year in 2002."The NYPA plans to install the units at wastewater treatment plants in Brooklyn, Staten Island, Bronx and Queens. The addition of these eight units brings to 17 the number of UTC fuel cells in operation in and around the Big Apple.Other installations include the police station in Manhattan's Central Park; North Central Bronx Hospital and St. Vincent's Hospital on Staten Island and the Conde Nast building at 4 Times Square.
