LCG, March 18, 2026--The EIA released a new "In-depth Analysis" of the potential impact of faster-than-expected near-term growth in data center power demand on power generation and wholesale prices on March 12. The analysis models the lower 48 states through 2027 and compares results to its base case scenario. Key takeaway from this sensitivity analysis is the potential increase in fossil fuels in some regions and potentially a significant increase in wholesale prices in ERCOT.

China Builds Trash-burning Power Plant
LCG, May 15, 2002-China's trash-burning power plant plans have been delayed two years, but a loan from Spain may bring about its construction. Chinese State Development Planning Commission approved the 680 million yuan ($82.2 million) Beijing project in 2000, but further action has been postponed because of financial and environmental concerns. Spain has reportedly agreed to loan $45 million for construction, and the plant is hoped to be on line by the 2008 Olymic games, which will be held in Beijing.Golden State Group Corp. holds the controlling stake in the joint venture.
