LCG, July 2, 2025--Alliant Energy today announced plans to add up to 1,000 MW of wind energy generating capacity in Iowa to meet demand and ensure reliable, affordable energy for its customers. The plans are included in a filing with the Iowa Utilities Commission (IUC), and the company anticipates a decision from the IUC in the first quarter of 2026.

FERC Approves NJ Pipeline
LCG, May 15, 2002-FERC approved the expansion of an existing gas pipeline, replacing a 9.14 miles of pipeline with 23.86 miles. Columbia Gas, part of NiSource Inc., is replacing the pipeline, which will cost $40.7 million and allow the gas company to supply the Mantua Creek Power Plant in Gloucester. The pipeline will serve southeast Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey and move 165,000 decatherms per day. In March FERC determined that the potential pipeline posed no serious threat to the environment.
