LCG, July 2, 2025--Alliant Energy today announced plans to add up to 1,000 MW of wind energy generating capacity in Iowa to meet demand and ensure reliable, affordable energy for its customers. The plans are included in a filing with the Iowa Utilities Commission (IUC), and the company anticipates a decision from the IUC in the first quarter of 2026.

Duke Will Build 620 MW PA Plant
LCG, May 21, 2002-Duke Energy North America will build a plant at the Fayette Facility in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. Duke/Fluor Daniel has signed a contract with Duke Energy to construct the 620 MW combined-cycle plant, which will include two natural gas or fuel oil-fired General Electric 7 FA combustion turbine generators and a GE class D11 steam turbine/generator.Although the costs have not been released, the plant is scheduled for operation in Summer of 2003. North Carolina-based Duke Energy has about 8,000 MW capacity in operation and another 6,700 MW, or 11 plants, under construction.
