LCG, August 27, 2025--Wärtsilä Energy announced yesterday an agreement with East Kentucky Power Cooperative (EKPC) to supply the engineering and equipment for a 217-MW power plant to be constructed in Liberty, Kentucky. The Wärtsilä equipment is scheduled for delivery in mid-2027, and the plant is expected to be commissioned in early 2028.

The MOU establishes a shared commitment to support advanced nuclear technologies to build Utah’s energy future and to prioritize reliability, economic growth and energy abundance.

Olive Power in Operation
LCG, June 11, 2002--Spain's first olive biomass plant is in operation near Villarta de San Juan in Ciudad Real.Endesa SA, which owns Endesa Cogeneracion y Renovables, announced that a 16 MW plant is producing electricity from olive parts left over after oil has been extracted.Energias de la Mancha (Enemans), Agencia de la Energia de Castilla La Mancha (the local energy company), and Aceites Pina SA own 52 percent, 24 percent, and 24 percent stakes respectively.
